The software solution Comos ET was developed on the basis of the entire object-oriented Comos strategy for the markets of the automotive industry, the electrical industry and also for the classical construction of switching and control cabinets. It sets free the benefits of rationalization both in the planning view and the operator view.

Comos ET was especially developed for the planning and documentation of electrical tasks such as drive units and high, medium and low voltage units or also the planning of automation solutions.

The use of Comos ET makes it possible to deal with electrical engineering projects as a team while working on just one common data base. This means that the basic requirements of the consumers, etc., can be defined in detail at the beginning through this innovative concept.

For the first time ever, this means that the sequencing of the project workflows is not determined by the creation of circuit diagrams. Instead, documents such as circuit diagrams or switching cabinet design diagrams are interlinked bidirectionally with the object database. This means that the workflows can then be handled in any desired sequence.

This stringently avoids any possible friction between the individual work steps and thus produces greater efficiency within the electrical design work.

The comprehensive way that the data is consistent and available all the way through from the planning stage through to production and up until quality assurance thus has a marked effect on potential ways of making savings.

The open system architecture offers in addition a wide variety of options for integration into the existing EDP/engineering worlds of the customer. Comos ET thus represents a uniform and modern strategy for optimal data handling.

The taking over of old data from existing ECAD solutions such as EPLAN is thus an important part.

Key Benefits

  • The simple and universal forms of planning and creating electrical engineering documentation set free rationalization effects to an extent that was not possible before
  • Comprehensive automation mechanisms make it possible to have integrated data processing within a networked IT environment, which greatly raises the level of efficiency in the workflow for electrical design
  • The ability to interchange data and the interlinking of the various tools provide an optimum flow of information over the entire life cycle of a product and at the same time exclude any possibility sources of error from manual input
  • The system has the effect that sequential processes can be run in parallel even as of today, which greatly improves the level of quality of the planning, the documentation and the results of the work
  • External partners or suppliers can be brought in without any losses of data or quality.
