The Comos E&IC module is an integrated design tool for the efficient and cost-effective production and maintenance of all the relevant data and documents in electrical and instrumentation and control technology. It seamlessly builds a new layer on top of the requirement data created in Comos Basic.

The detail planning tool for electrical and instrumentation and control technology is the logical continuation of and addition to the E&IC basic planning. As opposed to other tools that are currently available, the Comos module does not make a distinction between the electrical and the instrumentation and control technology. Instead the user has the full scope of Comos ET available for use. Instead he or she thus gets a system that is uniform all the way through, with consistent handling and common data.

The technical areas of process technology and of E&IC engineering are coming closer and closer together. This bidirectional amalgamation of data and graphics creates a very high degree of transparency in the networking of these two fields. The navigation to the other data views, such as those of the P&ID, thus represent a valuable aid within the working process.

The Comos E&IC module puts the I&C planner in a position to deal with his or her tasks in the field of the device and signal views and also within the detailed field planning in a rapid and uncomplicated way.

Key Benefits

  • The very close interlinking of the process and instrumentation and control technology planning results in a reduction of the number of iteration loops and thus also cuts costs and increases quality
  • The seamless transition from Basic to Detail Engineering in the E&IC area simplifies the production of documentation and the handling of change management
  • The simultaneous engineering concept thus results in considerable savings in time and money when working with very large projects and plants
  • The data and document revision process produces a very high level of transparency within the entire handling process and reduces the number of iteration loops
  • Data sheets and lists can be produced very easily in Excel.
